ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
Required Qualifications and Education:
Candidates for the position must have an MFA in Graphic Design or related field by August 2014. Requirements for the position include: professional experience and/or prior college level teaching experience, and a combination of skills covering the following areas: typography, contemporary media (web design, motion graphics, and interactive media), identity design, and page layout or print production. Additional skills might also include experience in packaging and exhibit design. Candidates must be able to teach classes outside of the graphic design emphasis such as drawing, 2D design, etc. Evidence of knowledge of historical and contemporary design is required.
Responsibilities – Essential Functions:
Teach three courses per semester in a NASAD accredited undergraduate program with approximately 325 majors, participate in portfolio reviews and student advising, provide leadership and vision in curricular development, participate in university and departmental committee work, and maintain an active research professional practice.
Salary: Competitive; commensurate with rank and experience.
